National Codes and Standards - Wind Loads

This article is a list of governing national codes and standards which specify the minimum design wind loads in each of the Southeast Asian countries.

    MS 1553: 2002 Code of Practice on Wind Loading For Building Structure
    The Malaysian Standard was developed by the Working Group on Code of Practice on Wind Loading for Building Structure supervised by the Technical Committee on Structure Loading under the authority of the Building and Civil Engineering Industry Standards Committee. Development of this standard was carried out by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) which is the Standards-Writing Organization (SWO) appointed by SIRIM berhad to develop standards for the construction industry. During the development of Malaysian Standard, reference was made to AS/NZ 1170.2

  2. Philippines

    NSCP-2001: National Structural Code of the Philippines, 5th ed, Volume 1 - Buildings, Towers, and Other Vertical Structures, Section 207 Wind Loads
    This code is published by the Association of Structural Engineers of the Philippines, and approved as a reference code of the National Building Code by the Department of Public Works and Highways. The current NSCP wind load provisions are based on those in the ASCE7-95 Standard.
